| Davis Park Update |

The Village has completed the installation of the new split-rail fence on the Lyons and Carman Roads sides of the Davis Park playground. Additional hedges were recently planted to fill in the empty spots along the fence.
Please note that there is a new “no parking” area directly in front of the new entry ramp on Lyons. We ask that all of you who drive to the park respect this restriction and not park between the signs. It is necessary to keep this area clear in order to allow unrestricted access to the ramp.
The Arthur Manor Association has tried to work closely with the Village to ensure that the fence and landscaping are as attractive and unobtrusive as possible.
Please, if at all possible, walk or ride your bikes to the park. Cars parked on both sides of Lyons and Carman create a dangerous situation in which both pedestrians and through traffic find it difficult to navigate.
We would also like to remind residents that no large play equipment, cars, swings, sandboxes, etc. should be left in the playground area. While it is a generous thought to leave unwanted items in the playground for others, these toys are not approved for public playground use and will be removed by the Village. In addition, too many of these toys clutter the park and are unsightly. We thank you for your cooperation.
The Arthur Manor Association continues to request that the Village explore and implement traffic safety improvements around the park. We will keep you posted! |
